You guys know what I mean. You see a women with her hair in it's natural state, down to her ankles, and she says she's been natural for only 2 years. Your jaw drops and you secretly wish your hair grew six inches a month like hers. Then you find out...she transitioned from relaxed to natural hair for 12 years and she only considered herself natural until she cut off that last quarter inch of relaxed hair.
Another scenario. You see a women with her hair in it's natural state. She says she just "washed and went" (otherwise known as a "wash and go") but in reality it takes her up to 5 hours post shampooing to get the curls just right.
I'm not taking shots at anyone...I'm just stating some of the things that I have observed over the years.
This is for the women who are contemplating going natural...don't be discouraged because you think your hair will never grow as long as this one or your curls will not 'pop' like that one. You never know what technicalities or hoops and rings of fire they have jumped through to get their hair in a particular state. Do your research, see what works for you and have fun.
