So I start an externship next week and I will have to dress professionally. Well not really professionally, but I can't wear jeans. New York City summers are HOT and I refuse to wear pants and after a while, dresses and skirts may get boring.  Shorts can be dressed up just as much as a skirt or dress, and I think they are a nice way to switch things up a little.

I envision a work outfit with shorts to look a little like this...
