How true is this statement? I say very. This happens even on a smaller scale. Just think of the cool, trendy fashions while you were (or maybe some of you still are) in high school. You and your friends were being fashion forward and then a few weeks later, BAM!, whatever you were the first to wear is now the uniform. But I guess the beauty of fashion is that it is ever changing. By the time something is out of date there is something else fresh on its heels. But a creative type will know how to take a trend and make it there own, so even when something is out of date they can get away with it a tad bit longer. Trust, I've seen this before.
