"I Like My Style"

So I know I said I would be back the Friday after Christmas, and clearly that didn't happen.  My apologies.  I got some pretty great things for Christmas though: a charm bracelet, camera, money, etc. For the couple of days after Christmas, I wasn't completely neglecting my blog.  I was researching some material, and I found something great.

For those of you on Facebook, you know that the most fun part is looking at your friends' pictures (and their relationship status, but we will keep that a secret).  Well there is a website, I Like My Style, which is a social network which allows members to post pictures, comment on other members' pictures, and connect with people all in the name of fashion.  I like to think of it as one big Facebook album with pictures of only the most fashionable and stylish.  There are so many different styles and so many different takes on clothing.  It's certainly fashion eye candy.  Check it out and then join at ilikemystyle.net.

It's Christmas Eve!!!

Hello my fellow fashionable ones!  It's Christmas Eve and I hope you are all done with shopping.  If not, good luck! : ).  Anywho, have a very Merry Christmas, eat lots of sweets, and enjoy the spirit of Christmas. Let's also remember those who are less fortunate than we are during this time.  That will surely remind us of what this season is really all about: family, friends, and love.

I'll be back on Friday, hopefully, with the rundown on what I received, what I gave, and what I wore.  Tata for now!!!

Gifts for the Fashionable...

There is only about a week left of Christmas shopping, so all of you last minute shoppers, get to it!  I'm sure we all want to save a little money this season so here are a few inexpensive gift ideas for the fashionable one in your life...

  • Costume Jewelry

What girl doesn't love cute, costume jewelry.  It's fun, playful, and can jazz up any outfit.  The best part is that it's really inexpensive so you can give a couple of pieces and not end up broke. These cute pieces can be found at Forever21, but you can also find great pieces at H&M, thrift stores, and if you are lucky enough to live in the New York City area, there are street vendors everywhere you turn.

  • Fashion books/magazine subscription

The fashionable one in your life will truly appreciate learning all she/he can about fashion and what better way to do that than through books and magazines.

Other great gift ideas include:
  • Spa Gift Certificates.  You don't have to go all out and get the gift certificate for a full body, deep tissue massage.  She/He will love a mani or pedi.
  • Travel makeup sets/makeup brush sets.  These are great when we go on much needed weekend getaways.  We love our makeup, but we don't want to travel with a huge makeup case so we are able to still look pretty without adding 10 lbs to our luggage.
These are just a few ideas to get the ball rolling on your holiday gift ideas.  I think the most important thing is to make sure you really put some thought into what you give a person. Being creative is something that we can all benefit from during this holiday season.  Sure, giving a gift card is easy, but what isn't so easy is putting a substantial amount of money on the gift card.  So get creative, surprise your friends and have a very happy, fashionable holiday.  I'm sure your friends will appreciate it a lot more this season.

Sweet Sixteen!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending my younger cousin's Sweet Sixteen.  It was an  absolutely beautiful ceremony, and she was the most beautiful sight.

Whatever the trends of the moment may call for: flirty, girly, ruffles, mini, long, sleek, full, colorful or nude, I say tradition transcends them all.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yesterday was my birthday!!  I had an amazing time.  My friends from work took me out to lunch, my boss baked me my favorite kind of cake, red velvet, and I went out to my favorite restaurant with my family.  What could be better?

My cake was absolutely fabulous!  I died when I saw the shoe cookie at the bakery.  This wasn't even an option as a cake design but the kind bakery lady allowed me to customize.

Oh yea about the outfit.  Again, I had to use my transitional dressing skills even though the weather has already changed (saving money is the key to success).  This skirt is very summer but I figured I'd throw on some black tights and a black turtleneck and I'd be good to go.

Birthday festivities didn't end last night.  They continue tonight..so excited!

Oh Whit!

For all of my Hills fans out there, the oh so sweet Whitney has a blog of her own.  She talks about The Hills, her family, her new show The City and her clothing line, Whitney Eve.  I am very excited about her show. Many people say that she is boring, but she's my favorite person on The Hills.  I think it will be interesting to see someone as sweet as Whitney working in the cutthroat world of fashion.

Now about that clothing line.  I must admit, I am not a big fan it.  I think she has amazing style, but it is not translating onto her clothing line.  I'm still rooting for her because if Lauren can have her own line, surely Whitney can.  Visit Whitney's blog at whitneyport.celebuzz.com.

Give Me Just a Few Degrees More

After a week of incredibly cold weather, we finally had a break and it was 54 degrees today!  All I needed was for it to be a few degrees warmer and I was happy to throw on a skirt.  In an effort to save money, I've been trying to stretch my wardrobe out as far as possible.  So, when the weatherman said 54...i heard nothing beyond that and pulled a skirt out of the bottom of the drawer.  Maybe it worked, maybe it didn't but I was rather content with the outfit.
